We were contacted by some existing customers of ours who had a new project they wanted to get started. They had bought an older property in Beverley so they needed to replace the carpets which had been in there for 20 years or so. The property itself had one main grand staircase as you entered the front door and a separate staircase to the rear. The customers wanted a different look for each.
For the main staircase, they wanted a clean cut 80/20 wool mix to give a contemporary look to the original staircase. For this we suggested Tudor Twist from Victoria Carpets and they went with colour Carbon. For the rear staircase, they wanted a wool loop to stand up to the high traffic as this was the part of the property that their grown up children use when they are home. For this they chose Malabar in colour Hardwick.
For both staircases, they wanted to have the carpets bound and fitted as a runner to keep in with the traditional style of the house. They decided to just have a colour match binding to use the staircase itself as the feature that catches your eye.
We thoroughly enjoyed completing this one as it is great to work on some of the areas older properties with a bit of history and bring them back to life for a new family to enjoy!
